Northside Hospital Wants Medical Complex In Cherokee

According to an article in the AJC, Northside Hospital is seeking permission from the state to build a 75,000 square foot medical office building in central Cherokee County.

The property is near the I-575 commuter corridor at Sixes Road, a densely populated area, and would “provide easy access to primary care physicians and specialists to the community.” Northside plans to locate the medical complex on 6.26 aces of land already owned by the hospital.

Billy Hayes, chief executive officer of Northside Hospital-Cherokee, said Thursday the project would help the facility in recruiting additional doctors to the area.

The hospital said Northside Hospital-Cherokee will provide outpatient support services to support the doctors who establish practices in the new building.

Northside Hospital-Cherokee, located in Canton, is an 84-bed, not-for-profit, full-service community hospital that has more than 260 doctors on its medical staff, and more than 500 employees. It treats nearly 100,000 patients a year as part of the Northside Hospital health care delivery system.
