Mixed-Use Project In North Fulton To Begin This Summer
According to a report in the AJC, Construction is to begin this summer on a mixed-use project in the Crabapple community of north Fulton County. According to the developer, John Adams of Lodestone Development. the project took nearly a year to win approval from city officials with Milton.
The project is to provide about 22,500 square feet of retail space, 23,000 square feet of office and about 7,800 square feet of residential space, Adams said. About 62 percent of the retail is leased, Adams said.
Steel is to arrive on the site of Crabapple Mercantile Exchange by the end of June. Construction will start shortly after that, he said.
Adams said he bought the site in December, after Milton approved the project. Construction financing was contingent on the city’s approval, he said.
Milton officials contended it must comply with the rural heritage of the old farming community. Adams’ design is evocative of the Savannah Riverfront, with gas street lamps, brick exteriors and ornate wooden doors and window frames.
