Atlanta Design Firm Awarded $340 Million Contract
According to a recent report in the Atlanta Business Chronicle, Atlanta firm to lead $340M Nashville convention center design team The Atlanta-based architecture firm of Thompson, Ventulett, Stainback & Associates has been selected by the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency as the lead firm for design of Nashville’s new Music City Center convention facility.
The project is estimated at about $340 million but overall costs tied to the project could approach $600 million.
Also selected for the architecture team by MDHA were Nashville-based Tuck-Hinton and Ohio-based Moody Nolan Inc.
The three architecture firms will work together on the design for the nearly 1.2 million-square-foot center. Groundbreaking for the Music City Center is expected by the middle of 2009, and the facility is slated to open in 2012.
Earlier this month, MDHA awarded the construction contract for the new convention center to Clark Construction Group and the project management contract to Turner Universal.
